What We Do

The South Carolina Insurance News Service (SCINS) was established in 1976 as a 501 (c)(6) trade association representing property and casualty insurance companies that are licensed and do business in the state. The education-based, non-lobbying organization is designed and intended to provide factual information to consumers, news media representatives, and other interested parties on behalf of its member companies.
As a member-driven organization, SCINS’ mission is to improve South Carolina’s insurance market by providing consumers and member companies with information and resources on relevant issues.
