"The South Carolina Insurance News Service is many things to many people. It is about media relations, consumer education, regulatory and legislative networking and relationships, industry networking and relationships, legislative monitoring and relationships, media tracking, editorial review board networking visits, III relationships and information, and more. etc....It is really a little of everything and somehow delivers on it all. "

- Bill Tucker, Nationwide Insurance

"I believe the South Carolina Insurance News Service is among the best run of any state insurance news service. The information provided by the SC INS, including legislative updates, compliance issues, media relations, and educational issues, are vital. And the organization that you provide is unparalleled among any industry trade group."

- Dan DeLamater, Southern Mutual Insurance Company

"There is no substitute for communication and education and nobody does that job better than the SCINS. The consumer as well as all media sources are much more knowledgeable about all aspects of insurance because of this effort."

- Larry Wilson, State Auto Insurance

"Membership in SCINS is the best source for information related to insurance legislation, updates on insurance news around the state and nation, and offers an opportunity to interact with others companies doing business in the state. We have many common interests and I think SCINS is the best opportunity for us to put up a united effort to demonstrate to the public what we really can do for them. I first became involved with SCINS because of the work done with the Arson Hotline. This effort is just one example of how we serve the public."

- Robert Bedell, Southern Mutual Church Insurance Company

"Farm Bureau was one of the founding members of the News Service. We have seen the organization grow from one with a single purpose for educating the public on a specific auto insurance issue to one where it can educate the public and the media on almost any insurance relevant topic. For all practical purposes it has become the first source that the local media (TV, radio and newspapers) considers when they want information about current insurance issues. The News Service also prepares a very comprehensive review of all pending insurance legislation in the state’s General Assembly. While each of our member companies have their own unique slants on issues, the News Service offers a forum where we can come together to present a united front on issues of the date. I would encourage any insurer that writes in South Carolina to join the organization."

- Bruce Mackay, CPCU – Vice President, Operations, SC Farm Bureau Insurance Company

"You folks are our key source for information! We refer to your messages on a weekly, if not daily, basis. Michael A. Gerber Vice President/CMO Builders Mutual Insurance Co. "

"State Farm has been a member of the News Service since the inception over 30 years ago and believes the News Service plays an integral part in our industry. The Insurance News Service offers benefits to member companies such as proactive and reactive media relations, speaks for the industry with one voice, and opportunities to build relationships with other members of the News Service."

- Bruce White, State Farm

""SCINS is the “go-to” source for information on the insurance industry in South Carolina among consumers, media, public policymakers and insurers. It is among the leaders of state insurance associations in utilizing the Internet as a powerful tool to broaden its communications reach to its key constituencies.""

- Cary Schneider, Insurance Information Institute

"The Post and Courier 134 Columbus Street Charleston, SC 29403 January 18, 2007 As a reporter who covers insurance-related issues for a daily newspaper, an accurate, reliable and accessible information service is worth its weight in gold. As with any far-reaching and multi-faceted industry, an expert who can succinctly separate the wheat from the chaff makes a reporter’s life infinitely easier. The importance of that kind of resource cannot be overstated. Allison Love goes above and beyond on a regular basis. She can provide endless statistics, all of it relevant, and most importantly, provides the data in a timely manner. At a daily newspaper, stories are often written on deadline. This means the reporter cannot afford to wait until tomorrow for a reply. I believe Allison’s policy is to respond within an hour. Beyond the resources at her disposal, Allison is a hotline to all the right industry people. Reporters usually require comment from executives at insurance companies, but these people sometimes are unsure about speaking with the press. Allison acts efficiently as a liaison, and the respect and trust she enjoys from her peers means some of the country’s most knowledgeable insurance experts are made available to me regularly. In summary, if Allison and the News Service were to go away, I’d be totally lost. Sincerely, Peter Hull Finance writer The Post and Courier Charleston, S.C. "It is a privilege to write my opinion of the value of the South Carolina Insurance News Service. Calculating over 15 years having access to an extensive variety and volume of insurance information, WKDK’s “On the Move with Margaret” broadcast, has covered every available topic. The local media, Newberry Observer, provides coverage of the aired programs. Newberry County audiences are well informed about free insurance information, property and casualty insurance issues. South Carolina Insurance Service has successfully provided the facts to consumers, but recognition is due the executive directors who are available all the time to present timely, honest and accurate education to the public through media. Allison Dean Love celebrated her eleventh anniversary as special guest for “On the Move with Margaret” broadcast in 2006. She is a supportive resource and trusted contact for the success of the News Service but also for success of radio programs with her presentation of hot topics, insurance news, and presenting accommodating advice as a WKDK presenter. We value her time, loyalty, attention, and willingness to contribute news that makes local headlines. It is past my time to express gratitude and appreciation to two loyal friends who after a decade of service can be called “family”. Respectfully submitted, Margaret Brackett WKDK Radio, Newberry "

"Allison Dean Love of the South Carolina Insurance News Service has been a friendly and informative voice to the listeners of my radio show for many years. Many times, when I mention that she will be one of the next day’s guests, several people will call me with concerns about their insurance. My show does not have a call-in format, but I will summarize their problems and work them into the conversation with Allison. South Carolina insurance is as convoluted as trying to grow kudzu in straight rows, but there has never been a time that Allison wasn’t prepared to answer any question whether it be about legislation or practicalities. Her live interviews and written releases make sense to anyone and not just those who speak “insurance-ese”. Not only does she appear on my program several times a year, but I have called the SCINS office and have always received accurate answers to my questions. Allison and the South Carolina Insurance News Service are valuable and cooperative tools available to any media personnel in the state. Tom Kinard “Kinard-N-Koffee” WSIM Star 93.7 Radio, Florence "
